Khona Va’aga Gray

Khona Va'aga-Gray wrote her first song at age eight and in September 2009, then aged 12, she sang her song at her first Country Music Award. She continued to write and perform her originals for shows like Pasifika Festival 2010, TVNZ Studio 2 and the 2010 NZ Music Month of May Song Writers’ Competition.

Khona has also had success in country music awards, winning the 2010 Junior Gold Guitar Award and Junior Runner-Up at the 2010 EOTY Award, having entered both awards for the first time.

This year Khona has appeared at the 2011 Tamworth Country Music Festival and the 2011 Norfolk Island Country Music Festival as a guest artist. She also enjoyed her role as one of the cast members of “Oklahoma” with the Papakura Theatre Company, and hopes to dance again with the Auckland Coca-Cola “Christmas in the Park” Kids Dance Crew for a third year.
