Club Nights
Club Night is held at the Morrinsville Senior Citizens
Hall on Canada Street, Morrinsville. The night starts at
7.30pm and while a finish time between 10pm and 10.30pm
is targeted, the number of members performing on the night
will dictate the end of the concert.
In order to perform at the concert, all singers must be
able to sing their song without the words infront of them.
If members are only able to attend one of the workshops
it would preferably the be second(Band) workshop. For visitors
from outside the club who cannot attend a workshop, the
programme organiser for the night will decide if they can
be put into the programme but given that most concerts have
a full line-up, it is far from guaranteed. Final say will
be from the band leader as the charts need to be suitable
for the band to play from.
Door Charges:
Members 18 years & over: $3.00
Non members: $5.00
Non Member senior citizens: $4.00
School Students: $2
Under 5: Free
Singers Workshop
The first workshop is held on the last Friday of the month
starting at 7pm. The workshop is an ideal opportunity to try
a song with the backing of a band and check that it is in
the best key for the singer and find any issues with the songs
chart.
Club members are welcome to bring along their instruments
sit in with the band at this workshop.
Band Workshop
The second workshop is held on the first Friday of the month
starting at 7pm. This workshop is to help the band prepare
for the concert the following week. Singers are expected to
know their song well enough to sing without the words infront
of them and have it charted correctly.
Only the band members for the following weeks concert may
play at this workshop unless a performer is accompanying themselves.
At both workshops a list will be at the organisers table
where performers are required to write down their name and
song. The workshops are run by age groups - juniors, intermediates
and seniors and the order of singers within those groups
is the order that their names appear on the list. For the
Club Night programme, the age groups are mixed to present
a balanced concert.
